Dear Community,In recent discussions, the topic of the hemp ban has been on many of our minds.
My name is Rebecca Mariolis-Baker, and I’m one of the moms behind urmawm. I started this company because I saw people struggling, and I found something that genuinely helped them be happier and healthier. That’s it. That’s why we’re here.
This week, Congress passed a ban on hemp products. It wasn’t debated or even voted on as a standalone issue. It was quietly slipped into a must pass bill to reopen the government. It takes effect in 12 months. I’m going to be honest with you the same way I’d talk to a friend: I’m not entirely sure what comes next. But I wanted to talk to you directly because you deserve to hear it from me, not from headlines or rumors.
Here’s What Happened
In 2018, hemp was legalized. We built this company around that simple idea.
But this week, Congress decided to ban most of what we do.
I don’t have all the politics figured out. I’m not a lobbyist. I’m a mom who runs a business. But what I do know is: a lot of people depend on what we make. And they’re going to lose access to it. That breaks my heart a little.
Here’s What You Need to Know Right Now
If you’ve been depending on our products for your wellbeing—your sleep, your stress, your peace of mind you have 12 months of that continuing. Take that in. You’re okay right now.
Here’s What I’m Doing
I’m being real with you: we’re not as big as some companies. We don’t have massive budgets for fancy campaigns or political advocacy. We’re a mom-led business focused on making good products.
So here’s what we are doing:
We’re being thoughtful about what comes next.
We’re preparing for multiple possibilities, not panicking about any of them, just preparing.
We’re focused on making sure you stay happy and healthy.
If things change, we’re thinking about how to still serve you. Maybe that looks different. Maybe it doesn’t. But the goal stays the same: I want you to have access to things that are good for you.

We’re a real company with real commitments, and this doesn’t change that. |
The Truth
I started this company because I care about people. That’s not a marketing line. I genuinely do. I care that you’re okay. I care that you have access to things that help you feel better. I care that the people who work with us, our farmers, our team, our partners can feed their families.
This regulation makes that harder. But it doesn’t make it impossible.
What I’m Asking From You
First: Keep using our products. Enjoy them. Trust that we’re thinking about what comes next.
Second: If you know someone in government, or if you have time to say something about this, that would help. But I’m not going to tell you what to do. You know what matters to you.
Third: Just stay close to us. We’ll keep you updated. No surprises. Just honesty.
Most importantly: Remember why you started using our products in the first place. That reason is still valid. That need is still real. That part of your wellbeing still matters. So we’re going to keep showing up. We’re going to keep making good products. We’re going to keep caring about your wellbeing. And we’re going to figure out what comes next, together.
Thank you for believing in what we’re building. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for letting us be part of your wellness journey.
That means everything to me.
With genuine care,
Rebecca
